The Bessarabian Stakes is a Canadian Thoroughbred horse race run annually since 1985 at Woodbine Racetrack in Toronto, Ontario. Raced at a distance of seven furlongs, it is held during the latter part of November and is open to fillies, age three and older. Raced on Polytrack synthetic dirt since 2006, the Bessarabian Stakes currently offers a purse of $150,000 plus $50,000 for Ontario-bred horses from the Ontario Thoroughbred Improvement Program. Inaugurated in 1985, through 1990 it was contested at six furlongs.
